Devildriver: U.S. tour dates announced!

Santa Barbara, California's Ddevildriver has scheduled the following U.S. dates:

Apr. 28 - The Marquee - Tulsa, OK

Apr. 30 - Southgate House - Newport, KY

May 01 - Alrosa Villa - Columbus, OH

May 02 - Harpo's - Detroit, MI

May 07 - Peabody's Downunder - Cleveland, OH

May 08 - The Emerson Theater - Indianapolis, IN

May 09 - The Pearl Room - Mokena, IL (Chicago Powerfest)

May 15 - Sokol Hall - Omaha, NE

May 16 - Marquis Theatre - Denver, CO

May 17 - Gator's Bar And Grill - Farmington, NM

Devildriver will film a video for an as-yet-undisclosed track from the band's upcoming album, "Pray For Villains", on April 9 with director Nathan Cox (Queens of the Stone Age, Marilyn Manson, Linkin Park).

In other news, Devildriver will headline this summer's "Thrash And Burn Tour", which will kick off on July 22th and run through August 30th. A European tour with Behemoth and Gojira will follow in October.

Devildriver's fourth album, "Pray For Villains", is tentatively due on July 14th via Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded at Edge of the Earth studios in Los Angeles with producer Logan Mader (Five Finger Death Punch, Gojira, Divine Heresy)

Killswitch Engage tour dates confirmed!

Killswitch Engage Confirmed For Disturbed's 'Music As A Weapon' Tour!

According to a posting on the web site of the booking agency The Agency Group, Massachusetts metallers Killswitch Engage will take part in Disturbed's fourth Music As A Weapon tour, which is expected to get underway sometime in March. Dates, cities and additional supporting acts have yet to be unveiled.

Killswitch Engage bassist Mike D'Antonio told MTV's Metal File in August that the New England-based band would enter the studio in October to begin work on its next album, with plans to release the disc in early 2009. D'Antonio remarked, "When we start on this next one, we'll just bring our demos to practice, and we'll listen to them, judge them and start rearranging the parts that need to be rearranged — or we just start jamming on what sounds cool." The bassist added that most of the material he's written so far for the project sounds "fast."

Message from Shawn "Clown" Crahan of Slipknot...

A message from Clown:

Slipknot percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan has released the following message regarding the band's upcoming tour of Australia:

"Get ready, maggots! It's been 10 years and in that 10 years of sacrifice we're finally able to bring what is Slipknot to Australia — the real set, the real deal. Hydraulic drums and percussion rigs, massive set, explosions, lights and more. We're on fire and out for blood."

This will mark the first time in Slipknot's history that the band is bringing its full rig to Australia. That means the group is traveling with over 11 tons of equipment, including Joey Jordison's hydraulic riser that raises him 15 feet in the air and flips him onto his back, Clown and Chris Fehn's hydraulic risers, and, of course, lots and lots of pyro everywhere they can get away with it. Dragonforce will hit the U.S. later this fall for a six-week headline tour that will hit major markets. Turisas will serve as main support for the trek, which kicks off on November 1 and runs through December 19.

"Ultra Beatdown", the new album from Dragonforce, registered the following first-week chart positions:
Japan: #9
Canada: #15
USA: #18
UK: #18
Australia: #18
Ireland: #47

"Ultra Beatdown" sold 24,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

According to Pyromusic.net, all members of Dragonforce will be making an in-store appearance next week at Drummer's Dream in Sydney, Australia. The store is located at 610 Canterbury Rd, Belmore (Cnr Kingsgrove Rd) and the in-store will take place on Tuesday, October 28 at 3.00pm. The band are touring this week in support of new album Ultra Beatdown. Dragonforce will be supported on their Aussie shows by Universum.
