Trivium xmas show!

Trvium xmas show!

When Trivium announced they would end their euro tour with an intimate show in London at the 250 capacity Borderline, tickets sold out in a day. It's been a few years since the guys had played such an intimate show and any Trivium fan who could get there was dying to get in- and those who did were not disapointed!

The show, a relaxed yet blistering set was interspersed with light hearted banter and cover versions, and the vibe was so good that the band opened the invite to the 'industry' party post show to the whole crowd, and led the festivites with a metal karaoke session, with Trivium as the house band and media and the audience providing some back up on vocals and instruments.

Check out an update from Corey (guitars) below and some killer footage of the show, which includes a lil surpise for a certain lady in the crowd too...

Slipknot’s “All Hope is Gone” certified gold in U.S. !

Slipknot’s “All Hope is Gone” certified gold in U.S. !

Slipknot's latest album, "All Hope Is Gone", was officially certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 9, 2008 for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the LP has shifted 592,000 units in the United States since its August 26 release.

"All Hope Is Gone" claimed the coveted No. 1 debut slot on Billboard's Top 200 chart, after an extraordinary SoundScan recount. The album was initially announced on September 3 as a No. 2 debut, a mere 13 units behind The Game's No. 1 debut, marking the closest margin in SoundScan history.
The chart positions resulted from a reported 238,272 copies of "All Hope Is Gone" its first week in stores, while The Game's "Lax" reported 238,285. With such an unprecedented margin, Roadrunner Records and WEA requested an historic recount. SoundScan obliged and chart positions were reversed, with Slipknot claiming No. 1 and a new margin of 1,134 albums.

Congratulation to Slipknot, you're #1 !!!

Slipknot 13 minutes video interview in Scotland!

Slipknot 13 minutes video interview in Scotland!

Slipknot percussionist Shawn 'Clown' Crahan has dismissed any talk of the band celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debut album next year as "a bunch of marketing crap."

The band's recently released fourth studio album All Hope is Gone topped the US Billboard cards on the week of its release in August. The band are touring at the moment, and next June sees them mark ten years since the release of their self-titled full-length debut.

Speaking to stv's John Kilbride backstage at Glasgow's SECC shortly before going on stage on Monday December 8, Shawn, the notorious band's clown masked percussionist, said: "A lot of people have been talking about 10 years, it doesn't mean s**t to me. I want to know what you're going to do for me for making it to ten years?

"That's ten years away from my children to do all this for everybody else I don't think we have to do anything special, it doen't mean s**t, just sounds like a bunch of marketing crap: 'Ten years...let's put out something because of that.'

That was just a taste of it...

Machine Head forced to cancel European shows

Machine Head forced to cancel European shows

Machine Head have been forced to cancel their remaining two performances on the Slipknot tour in Antwerp and Luxemburg, in the wake of guitarist Phil Demmel collapsing onstage again during Machine Head's second-to-last song Friday night in Sheffield, England.

Says bassist Adam Duce, "After considering the seriousness of Phil's health condition, we all feel that skipping these last two shows is the best thing to do. It's a bummer to end this tour like this after doing 9 amazing weeks and 3 continents with Slipknot, but getting Phil back to the States to get checked out is the most important thing right now. Our sincerest thanks to Slipknot and Children of Bodom for their support and understanding, we understand that it's a big disappointment to the fans, and Phil is very sorry about it, but we all feel that his health and safety is most important at this time."

Machine Head plan to resume touring Wednesday in Los Angeles for the first of two Metallica shows at The Forum.

Corey impression on having #1 album in U.S.

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor spoke to Scotland's The Daily Record about his upcoming 35th birthday celebration, which will happen on Monday, December 8 when the band plays Glasgow's SECC.

"That should be a very interesting night," he said. "I'm pretty excited because I turn 35 in Glasgow. We've always had such a good time being in Glasgow. It's one of my favorite cities. There's something about Glasgow. We've always discovered a lot of good music there, whether we're playing The Garage, The Barrowlands or the SECC. The kids are out of control and the people are brilliant. They are so passionate and I embrace that. It gets me going. I have a lot of great memories of walking round the city, ever since the first time we came in 1999. I remember being drawn in by that city and feeling fantastic."

The band is also celebrating having shot to No. 1 in the Billboard chart in the U.S., but only after an election-style recount.

"That was incredible," Corey recalled. "I still have moments where I ask myself if that really happened. "Obviously, when you get in a business like this, it's the goal to get to the top. But we had to call a recount for it because all the numbers weren't in and they originally had THE GAME at No. 1. But there was only a difference of 12 CDs. Our label, Roadrunner, called the recount and it turned out we were No. 1 by 1,200 CDs. We got the the top spot but we had to earn it. Unlike most people, we had to go through the crazy job of finding out if we were No. 1."

The only thing missing for the mask-wearing band from Des Moines is the keys to their home city from the Mayor, who Corey claims is keen to bestow the honour on the nine members.

"Our hometown is pretty proud of us," he said. "We don't get any accolades like that yet. The mayor wanted to give us the keys, but I wasn't even at home at the time. It would be cool and has been talked about. We'd have to wear the full rig-out to get the keys and say hello with the crowd just staring at us. As open-minded as Iowa is, there are still people that say we are not a good representation of what Iowa is about. There are more people like us in Des Moines than there are like them. It's good for the kids to feel they have a voice and someone who gets it. It's a place known for agriculture, but now it is known for us and known for music."

Slipknot and Airbourna jam together at Mayhem Festival

SLIPKNOT AND AIRBOURNE JAM TOGETHER

Airbourne conclude their UK tour following a crushing run up and down the UK. The show at London's Astoria was astounding and the Roadrunner UK staff have never wanted the working day to end more than this day so that they can head out and watch the whole shebang repeated and they have to say they will be sorry to wave them off into Europe…

To make them feel a little better, here Slipknot kicking off their UK tour on Monday with 3 London shows!!! More clock watching will ensue come lunchtime Monday then you can guarantee.

I’m pretty sure however that there are many of you out there who are feeling much the same as me, and so here, for your pleasure, are a couple of footages of a really cool jam featuring members of both bands. Shot by Revolver back stage at this summers US Mayhem fest, catch Airbourne's Joel and Slipknot's Corey (on DRUMS!) kickin’ back playing some AC/DC.
