Slipknot’s Corey Taylor to perform with Tom Morello in San Francisco!
According to SFweekly.com, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor will join Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello onstage at his March 26 Nightwatchman show at Slim's in San Francisco. Also scheduled to appear are communist emcee Boots Riley, legendary radical Wayne Kramer (of MC5), socially-conscious country rocker Steve Earle and seditious punk Anti-Flag. The show is a benefit for Axis of Justice, Morello's non-profit organization, which connects social justice activism with music. Tickets are $15, and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Morello issued his second solo album as the Nightwatchman last September, titled "The Fabled City". The 11-song LP, produced by Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam), is the first release to bear the political and social activist's birth name and features appearances by System of a Down's Serj Tankian and Shooter Jennings. With more complex electric arrangements than displayed on the sparse solo debut "One Man Revolution", "The Fabled City" is the synthesis of his groundbreaking work as an innovative rock guitarist and revolutionary acoustic troubadour. For the first time, this album bridges the gap between Tom Morello, the acoustic protest singer and Tom Morello, the guitar legend.
