Machine Head to tour Europe with Hatebreed, Bleeding Through and All Shall Perish!

Machine Head to tour Europe with Hatebreed, Bleeding Through and All Shall Perish!

Since the release of "The Blackening" in March of 2007, San Francisco Bay Area metallers Machine Head have toured incessantly, playing more than 300 shows in support of the Grammy-nominated album. And while this three-year-long album cycle has seen Machine Head share U.S. and European stages as main support to Metallica, Slipknot, Slayer, Marilyn Manson and Megadeth, headline the Jägermeister stage on the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, and headline the legendary Wacken Open Air festival to over 85,000 people, it hasn't seen them on a full-fledged headline tour, playing full-length sets. Until now.

Starting January 23, 2010, "The Black Procession" will tear through Europe, alongside brethren in heaviness Hatebreed, Bleeding Through, and All Shall Perish, for what promises to be night-after-night of unbridled power! Machine Head singer/guitarist Robb Flynn says, "After three years of touring we are beyond stoked to finish this tour cycle on our own terms, with our show, our stage, our production, our control, and we're lucky enough to bring three of our favorite bands along with us, it's going to be fucking massive!!!"

Machine Head have also decided to do things a little differently for the fans this time around and will be playing two or more intimate shows in 3,000-4,000-seat venues instead of the massive arena shows fans have grown accustomed to. Bassist Adam Duce adds, "Having done arenas now since The Black Crusade as well as the Metallica and Slipknot tours, we thought it would be killer to give the fans a chance to have a couple different setlists, and mix things up a bit. It's gonna be fun for us to see which gems we dig up!!!"

Hatebreed vocalist Jamey Jasta says, "Machine Head and Hatebreed on the same stages across Europe?!?! This will be the heaviest and most pit-inducing tour of 2010. Make no mistake, if you miss this show, I feel sorry for you!"

Brandan Schieppati, vocalist for Bleeding Through says, "Machine Head is a band we have all looked up to for years. We consider it an honor to share the stage with our friends in Machine Head. This will be amazing!"

And Eddie Shall Perish from heavy up-and-comers All Shall Perish adds "This tour will be legendary! We are beyond honored to be a part of this epic event; these bands have all been huge influences to our music and our devotion to this scene. Machine Head are hometown heroes and Robb Flynn has been championing our new album all over the world and we couldn't be more thankful to Machine Head for wanting us to be on this insane tour! We also can't wait to destroy Europe with all our friends in Hatebreed and Bleeding Through! Fuck yeah, this tour kills!!!"

"The Black Procession" will mark the end of the touring cycle for "The Blackening", making it the ABSOLUTE last chance you'll have to catch Machine Head live before they hunker down to write their next album! So grab your tickets early, because you KNOW you don't want to miss this show!

The dates are as follows:

Jan. 23 - Germany, Stuttgart - Schleyerhalle
Jan. 25 - Germany, Offenbach - Stadhalle
Jan. 26 - Germany, Hamburg - Grosse Freiheit
Jan. 29 - Norway, Oslo - Rockefeller

Killswitch Engage interview with Adam Dutkiewicz!

Killswitch Engage interview with Adam Dutkiewicz!

The Toronto Sun has posted an interview done by phone with KSE’s guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz. The title of the article is: “Engaging personality: Metal guitarist's self-deprecating humour a switch from the norm”…interesting!

Here’s few parts of it…

Toronto Sun: The band seems to get a lot of flak from metal purists for not being heavy enough.

Adam: “Yeah, there's metal fans that just want ripping guitar parts all the time and complete aggression. And I can't speak for the band, but I like having different elements in our material. I listen to all styles of music. Not just metal. So all the metalheads who say I'm not a real metalhead, well, maybe I'm not. But everyone's got their own thing, man. You won't catch me calling down anyone.”

Toronto Sun: How's your back? I understand you've had a chronic problem.

Adam: “Yeah, I've had several surgeries. I had disc herniations in 2007 -- pretty terrible extreme ones where I lost sensation below the waist actually. I couldn't walk. It was terrifying. I pretty much wrote off the band. I was pretty wrecked for half a year, maybe a little more. It was a pretty lengthy recovery. But lately I've been feeling very good. And now I wear a back brace onstage just to keep the lumbar stable.”

Slipknot: To resume touring in October!

Slipknot: To resume touring in October!

Slipknot bassist Paul Gray has issued a statement on MySpace regarding the cancellation of the band's U.S. tour.

The Iowa-based nine-piece cancelled 11 concerts that were scheduled to take place between August 22 and September 5 due to a "severe medical emergency" suffered by drummer Joey Jordison.

“Dear maggots, let me begin by saying we are VERY SORRY we had to cancel this leg of the tour,” Gray writes. “As you know, touring is our life; getting in front of you guys and playing keeps this band ALIVE. So it hurts us and much as you that we had to do this.”

“There are PERSONAL issues in the band that NEED to be taken care of for us to continue touring. Let me emphasize JOEY IS NOT DEAD/DYING, **HE IS FINE**.”

“We have been working hard for the last year and a half on the All Hope Is Gone touring cycle and it catches up to you, as I said earlier, but I am very sorry. We had to cancel to the two-week run but are desperately trying to make those shows up in our October tour.”

“We are not canceling our October tour, the band is not breaking up, we are all alive. I am setting the record straight.”

“If you don't hear it from one of us in this band, then it is bullshit. We are human and shit happens and that's how life goes, but we are making the best of it right now, as should you.”

“We will be on the road in October and hopefully we will see you there.”

“For everyone that has sent emails/messages thank you VERY much, They do mean a lot to us.”

“Hang in there we will see you soon.”

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine to begin recording his radio program next week!

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine to begin recording his radio program next week!

Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has issued the following update:

“It is official! On August 31st between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., I am going to be in the Clear Channel radio station down here in San Diego recording my first of 36 months' worth of my new radio program.”

“I am going to have a contest to pick the name of my show. The prize may be a guitar, it could be a pass to a show, it could be any of a number of things, but most importantly, it will be my way of thanking you for helping me christen our new show. It will also be the beginning of a new period in radio, where we are going to go back in time, back to when radio really mattered, and back when the programmers listened to music and not to people who forced us to play what they want and not what we want. I am even going to play bands like Mercyful Fate, so just let it be said. I am also going to play some bands that you may not like and you may even want to change the station about.”

“I hope that you won't leave, because I want to build a relationship with you and talk with you every month, and hopefully every week, and then, if this all goes according to plan, every day! So, get ready to make history with me, and with you!”

Megadeth's new album, "Endgame", will be in stores on September 15, and fans can get the inside scoop on the album with FMQB's Megadeth radio special, "Inside Megadeth: Endgame", airing on radio stations nationwide starting September 4.
